About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG

Key Responsibilities

This is a specialist role involved in driving investor-facing engagements, supporting strategic advisory engagements, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to facilitate investments. The candidate is expected to operate with a high degree of independence while contributing to team-level strategy and outcomes.

  • Strategic advisory and investment facilitation:  

Lead strategic advisory engagements for global aerospace & defense companies evaluating investment opportunities in India, including project feasibility

  • Research and market analysis:

Independently conduct in-depth research on land, air, and sea platforms, weapon systems, personnel equipment, MRO and
R&D services; track global and domestic trends, regulatory environment and policies, investments, business models, and emerging technologies.

  • Market intelligence and reporting:

Develop high-quality market intelligence outputs, including demand outlooks, competitive benchmarking, ecosystem
mapping, and sector notes, for use in investor engagements and senior-level reviews.
 

  • Stakeholder coordination and engagement:

Coordinate with internal teams, industry players, ecosystem partners, and external stakeholders to support
ongoing investor engagements, manage information flow, and ensure timely follow-ups.

  • Partnership and ecosystem development:

Build and maintain a strong understanding of the aerospace and defense ecosystem, including OEMs, tier
vendors, service partners, and operators, to support investment facilitation and collaboration.

  • Outreach and investment promotion:

Support and contribute to investment promotion initiatives, including preparation of investor pitch materials, sector
presentations, briefing notes, and participation in industry events and delegations.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualification: Master’s degree in engineering, technology, public policy, or management, with strong academic or applied research credentials.
  • Sector expertise: Strong understanding of aerospace and defence ecosystems, including key technologies, regulatory environment, operating models, and market dynamics.
  • Research and analytical capability: Proven ability to conduct rigorous qualitative and quantitative research, synthesize complex information, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Problem-solving and structured thinking: Ability to independently structure complex problems, assess multiple variables, and propose practical solutions in a fast-evolving sector landscape.
  • Communication and stakeholder management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior industry stakeholders and internal leadership.
  • Project ownership and execution: Demonstrated experience in managing workstreams, coordinating across teams, meeting tight timelines, and delivering high-quality outputs in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in industry, management consulting, investment advisory, or research.
